About Argyle Lake State Park

Argyle Lake State Park Campground defies ordinary camping expectations with its serene atmosphere, exceptional lakefront accessibility, and diverse camping options. Tucked within a lush 1,700-acre forested landscape, it features three distinct camping areas—Twisted Oak, Big Oaks, and Twin Oaks—offering everything from full-service Class A sites with electricity and showers to primitive Class D spots for a rugged outdoor experience.

Located just 7 miles from Macomb, this park is centered around a picturesque 93-acre lake known for outstanding fishing and boating opportunities, complete with a public boat launch, docks, and rentals for pontoons, canoes, and kayaks. The campground also connects visitors to over 5 miles of scenic trails that wind through virgin forests, perfect for hiking and spotting some of the 200 bird species native to the park. On-site amenities include picnic areas, playgrounds, an archery range, a dump station, and equestrian trails, ensuring a variety of recreational options for campers and their families.
