About Belle of Colorado Campground

Isolated from the hustle of daily life, the Belle of Colorado Campground offers a tranquil retreat in a shaded lodgepole pine forest along the eastern shores of scenic Turquoise Lake. Its tent-only sites and first-come, first-served policy ensure a rustic, unplugged camping experience, complete with direct access to the lake’s serene beauty, where anglers, hikers, and nature lovers can revel in the crisp alpine air.

The campground’s 19 sites are outfitted with essentials like picnic tables, fire rings, potable water, and vault toilets, with some enviably close to the turquoise waters. A short drive from Leadville, this camping spot is perfectly positioned for exploring the nearby Mount Massive Wilderness Area, home to Colorado’s second-highest peak, as well as the rich mining history and charming local culture of the Leadville area.
