About Bergland Township Park
Could this be your next camping getaway? The Bergland Township Park Campground, located on the northern shores of Lake Gogebic in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, offers a balanced mix of wooded seclusion, lakefront beauty, and recreational convenience. With both 15- and 30-amp electrical sites, family-friendly amenities, and its proximity to the largest inland lake in the U.P., it’s an ideal base for exploring this stunning region.
The campground is spread across 12.5 acres and divided into two sections. The Upper Campground features eight heavily wooded, scattered sites ideal for tents and smaller RVs, along with facilities like a shower building, restrooms, two picnic pavilions, and courts for tennis or pickleball. The Lower Campground, closer to the lake and more suited for RVs, offers 13 gravel-level sites, a swimming beach, a playground, a fish-cleaning station, and direct access to a DNR-managed boat launch. For those who love outdoor activities, the park serves as a gateway to fishing, kayaking, hiking, and snowmobile trails in the Ottawa National Forest and nearby Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.
Situated in Merriweather, just south of M-28, this campground combines rustic charm with practical amenities. Its location allows for easy day trips to Lake Gogebic State Park and other local attractions within a 30-minute radius, making it a perfect spot for weekend getaways or extended vacations.
