About Boca Spring Campground

Shaded by towering pines and perched at the edge of a serene meadow nourished by the constant flow of Boca Spring, Boca Spring Campground offers campers a tranquil retreat unmatched by its busier neighboring campgrounds. Accessible via a rugged gravel road, this intimate site provides a sense of solitude and connection to nature, ideal for tent campers and those seeking a more secluded experience.

Located just 20 minutes from Truckee, California, Boca Spring Campground features 16 individual campsites and a group site, each equipped with picnic tables, fire pits, and grills. Vault toilets and a single water spigot are available, though water quality issues have been noted in the past. Sites are surrounded by lush forest, offering privacy and a cooler ambiance compared to the open areas near Boca Reservoir. The area is also a starting point for off-highway vehicle trails and horseback riding routes, making it a gateway to the scenic Boca Ridge and Verdi Peak trails.

Situated one mile from Boca Reservoir and close to the Little Truckee River, the campground offers easy access to fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities. For history enthusiasts, the nearby Boca Townsite Interpretive Trail provides a glimpse into the area’s industrial past. Truckee’s charming downtown, with shopping and dining options, is a short drive away, and the broader Tahoe National Forest promises endless adventures for outdoor enthusiasts.
