About Boulder Creek Campground
Would you trade the hum of city life for the soothing rustle of pine trees and the glimmer of a tranquil mountain lake? Boulder Creek Campground, nestled in the Antelope Lake Recreation Area in Plumas National Forest, invites campers to explore its serene beauty. Situated at 5,000 feet elevation, this forested retreat offers 68 shaded campsites surrounded by lofty Jeffrey pines and lodgepole pines, providing an idyllic setting for both tent campers and RV travelers.
Located just two miles from Antelope Lake, the campground offers convenient access to a variety of water adventures. The lake's 15 miles of forested shoreline make it a haven for fishing, where bass, bluegill, and trout are common catches. A multi-lane boat ramp supports activities like kayaking, canoeing, and water skiing, while the calm coves attract a variety of migratory birds, perfect for quiet observation. Campers can also look forward to stargazing under some of Northern California’s clearest night skies, enhanced by the campground’s remote location.
The facilities are designed for comfort and practicality, featuring vault toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, and fire rings, with firewood available for purchase on-site. While the campground focuses on rustic charm, its proximity to nearby Taylorsville (approximately 30 miles) ensures that supplies like food and ice are within reach. Surrounded by rugged mountain terrain, Boulder Creek offers a mix of peaceful relaxation and adventurous exploration, making it perfect for both weekend getaways and extended vacations.
