About Brandy Creek Campground
Imagine the soothing sound of Brandy Creek's waters flowing nearby as you camp among the rolling hills and forested surroundings of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Brandy Creek Campground offers a rustic, peaceful retreat with walk-in tent sites designed for nature enthusiasts seeking simplicity and immersion in the outdoors. The campground's proximity to Whiskeytown Lake and Brandy Creek Trail creates an ideal base for both water activities and scenic hikes to cascading waterfalls.
Located just 19 miles west of Redding, California, the campground is surrounded by the stunning landscapes where the Klamath, Cascade, and Coast mountain ranges converge. Within a short two-mile trip, Brandy Creek Beach awaits with sandy shores, a swimming area, barbecue facilities, and kayak rentals during the summer season. For adventurers, Whiskeytown Lake provides endless opportunities for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing, while nearby trails offer routes for hiking and mountain biking through picturesque terrain.
Each campsite at Brandy Creek Campground is equipped with a picnic table, a bear-resistant storage locker, and a metal fire pit with a grill, ensuring campers have the essentials for a comfortable stay. Vault toilets are available, but there is no access to drinking water or electricity, so come prepared for this back-to-basics experience. Note that due to the 2018 Carr Fire, shade is limited, and portable structures for relief from the sun are recommended.
