Buckaloons Recreation Area

Situated where the Allegheny River meets Brokenstraw Creek and Irvine Run, the Buckaloons Recreation Area in Northwestern Pennsylvania defies the stereotype of a crowded campsite, offering instead a serene riverside haven rich in natural beauty, history, and recreational opportunities. A one-lane concrete boat launch provides access to the Allegheny Wild & Scenic River, renowned for its calm waters perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The Seneca Interpretive Trail, a one-mile loop through lush hardwoods and apple trees, offers wildlife viewing opportunities that include bald eagles, herons, and even black bears.

Located just six miles from Warren, Pennsylvania, and nestled within the Allegheny National Forest, Buckaloons provides a gateway to the Allegheny Islands Wilderness and numerous recreation options.
