Campground Overview
About Burnham Point State Park
Burnham Point State Park defies the notion of crowded campgrounds with its serene, lightly-wooded campsites set along the picturesque St. Lawrence River. Ideal for those who value tranquility, water-based recreation, and the natural beauty of upstate New York, this compact 12-acre park offers a peaceful retreat for RV and tent campers alike.
The campground provides 52 sites, many complemented by electric hookups, clean restrooms, hot showers, and a well-maintained dumping station. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate its direct river access, featuring a boat launch and docks that make it perfect for boating and fishing. Anglers can test their luck catching bass, pike, muskellunge, and walleye, while families can enjoy the picnic areas, playground, or pavilion, which accommodates up to 60 people. Dogs are welcome with appropriate documentation, adding to its family-friendly appeal.
Situated just four miles east of Cape Vincent, the park is a convenient base for exploring the Thousand Islands region. Within a short drive, visitors can discover Cedar Point State Park, the historic Sackets Harbor Battlefield, and charming local attractions in Cape Vincent, blending outdoor adventure with authentic small-town charm.
