Located at 9,813 feet elevation within the Pike and San Isabel National Forest, this tranquil destination offers a rugged yet inviting retreat perfect for escaping the summer heat.
The campground features 13 sites accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 30 feet, with amenities like picnic tables, fire pits, hand-pumped water, and vault toilets. Nature enthusiasts will find abundant opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing, with access to trails in the adjacent Mount Evans Wilderness and the nearby Burning Bear Trail, ideal for both hiking and mountain biking. The area is also known for its scenic drives and wildlife sightings, including elk, deer, bighorn sheep, and moose.
