About Carolina Beach State Park

At Carolina Beach State Park, the union of natural wonder and versatile camping options creates an experience that’s as serene as it is unique, offering a mix of wooded tranquility, ecological rarity, and coastal proximity.
The campground features 79 campsites, including 10 with full hookups and four camper cabins equipped with climate control, accommodating both rustic tent camping and RVs. Shaded by towering trees, most sites offer a peaceful ambiance with picnic tables and fire rings, complemented by clean bathhouses with hot showers. For a touch of adventure, group camping areas provide an off-the-beaten-path experience. The park’s marina adds even more to its appeal, offering boat ramps, fishing supplies, and access to some of the best aquatic adventures on Cape Fear River and Snow’s Cut.
Located just two miles from the Atlantic Ocean in Carolina Beach, North Carolina, the campground is ideally situated for exploring both the natural beauty of the park and the nearby attractions of Pleasure Island. With nine miles of diverse trails, including the Flytrap Trail and Sugarloaf Dune Trail, plus easy access to Wilmington’s historic charm just 12 miles north, this is a destination perfectly suited for weekend getaways or extended vacations.
