Chilhowee Group Camp, perched at 2,000 feet atop Chilhowee Mountain, offers a tranquil escape perfect for large gatherings, from family reunions to scouting trips, with access to some of Tennessee’s most scenic outdoor experiences.

The group campground accommodates up to 75 campers and provides both a rustic atmosphere and ample amenities, including picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Within a short distance, the seven-acre McKamy Lake features a sandy swimming beach, fishing opportunities, and a scenic day-use area. The surrounding Chilhowee Recreation Area boasts 25 miles of well-marked hiking and biking trails, leading to highlights like Benton Falls—an easy 1.5-mile hike to a breathtaking 65-foot cascade. The drive to the site offers additional scenic overlooks ideal for photography and wildlife spotting.

Located about 10 miles east of Benton, Tennessee, this campground also places you within a 30-minute drive of renowned whitewater rafting on the Ocoee and Hiwassee Rivers.
