About Colorado Campground

What sets Colorado Campground apart is its remarkable blend of accessibility, tranquility, and proximity to recreational gems. Located six miles north of Woodland Park, this family-friendly site lies amidst towering ponderosa pines at an elevation of 7,800 feet, offering a serene atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings. A short trail leads directly to Manitou Lake, a perfect spot for fishing, canoeing, and birdwatching, while the nearby Centennial Bike Trail caters to hikers, bikers, and rollerbladers.

This campground features 80 well-maintained campsites, complete with picnic tables, fire grates, and vault toilets. While there are no hookups, potable water and trash collection are available, and the paved roads ensure easy navigation for most vehicles, although larger RVs may face challenges. Unique to this site is an amphitheater hosting engaging campfire programs on summer Saturdays, adding an educational and communal element to your stay.

Nestled in the Pike National Forest and just over 30 minutes from Colorado Springs, the campground provides easy access to iconic landmarks like Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. With its mix of outdoor recreation and peaceful ambiance, Colorado Campground is well-suited for weekend getaways and longer escapes alike, offering a quintessential Colorado camping experience.
