Modern conveniences such as clean bathhouses with showers, a laundry facility, a dump station, and a fish-cleaning station enhance the experience. Recreational amenities include a boat ramp, two playgrounds, a group picnic shelter, and access to trails for walking and wildlife observation. The lake invites activities like fishing, kayaking, boating, and swimming, while the surrounding forested areas are teeming with wildlife, from eagles to deer.

Cotton Hill Campground is located about 9 miles north of Fort Gaines, Georgia, and is within a short drive of notable attractions like the charming historic towns of Eufaula, Alabama, and Cuthbert, Georgia. Eufaula, in particular, boasts stunning antebellum architecture and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
