Cowans Gap State Park Campground, located in the serene Allens Valley of south-central Pennsylvania, offers a picturesque retreat highlighted by a 42-acre lake, lush mountain surroundings, and diverse camping options. This campground’s most distinctive feature is its harmonious blend of natural beauty and well-maintained modern facilities, catering to both peaceful seclusion and convenient comforts, whether you prefer pitching a tent or staying in an RV or rustic cabin.

The campground features 201 sites across two loops, with Area B prized for its lake views, enhanced privacy, and pet-friendly options, while Area A provides easier access to trails like the Plessinger Trail and Little Aughwick Creek. Campers can enjoy amenities such as clean restrooms with hot showers, a sanitary dump station, and sites equipped with water and electric hookups. Unique to Cowans Gap is the historical charm of Civilian Conservation Corps-built cabins, offering a rustic yet comfortable accommodation option. Additional highlights include a lakeside courtesy mooring area for boaters and seven walk-in tent sites in a more secluded part of the park.
