Campground Overview
About Dana Peak Park
What makes Dana Peak Campground stand out is its idyllic location on a peninsula, offering direct access to the serene waters of Stillhouse Hollow Lake, paired with a range of recreational opportunities that cater to nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This lakeside destination combines well-maintained amenities with a backdrop of grassy, open landscapes and sweeping water views, perfect for both relaxation and exploration.
The campground features more than 30 campsites, including RV and tent sites with electric hookups as well as eight primitive sites, all of which include picnic tables, campfire rings, and grills. Visitors can make use of the clean restrooms with showers and benefit from a designated swimming beach, a four-lane boat ramp, and access to the Dana Peak hiking and biking trails, which extend just beyond the park's entrance. The open layout of the sites may lack significant shade, but the cooling breezes off the lake enhance comfort during warmer days.
Located just outside Harker Heights, Texas, Dana Peak Campground offers proximity to charming nearby spots like the Chalk Ridge Falls Environmental Learning Center, with its scenic trails and waterfalls, and the quaint village of Salado, known for shopping and art galleries—all within a 30-minute drive. Whether your trip aims at quiet lakeside camping, active outdoor adventures, or a mix of both, Dana Peak provides a versatile setting to create lasting memories.
