Campground Overview
About Dorst Creek Campground
How often do you find a campground that immerses you in both the serenity of vast meadows and the grandeur of giant sequoias? Dorst Creek Campground, located within Sequoia National Park, offers just that: an unparalleled blend of natural beauty, convenient access to iconic trails, and a peaceful, woodsy atmosphere.
At an elevation of 6,700 feet, Dorst Creek is surrounded by lodgepole pines, red fir, and scenic streams, creating an ideal environment for spotting wildlife like deer and quail. The campground provides 204 sites for tents, RVs, and groups, all outfitted with fire rings, picnic tables, and bear-proof storage lockers. While there’s no electricity, essential amenities such as flush toilets, drinking water, and a free dump station are available. Dorst Creek is also a trailhead for the Muir Grove hike, a tranquil walk through a secluded sequoia grove—just one of several iconic hikes nearby.
Located nine miles from Lodgepole Village, the campground is a prime basecamp for exploring attractions like the Giant Forest and Tokopah Falls, both within a short drive. Whether you're embarking on a weekend getaway or an extended mountain retreat, this campsite invites you to unplug and connect fully with nature.
