About Edna Creek Campground
Imagine a campsite where the tranquility of a babbling creek meets the striking contrast of a landscape shaped by fire. Edna Creek Campground, located along the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway in Boise National Forest, offers a unique blend of serene beauty and the raw, rugged remnants of a wildfire’s aftermath. This peaceful spot is perfect for campers seeking proximity to nature and easy access to outdoor adventures while enjoying basic amenities.
Situated at an elevation of 5,700 feet and just 18 miles north of historic Idaho City, the campground features 11 sites equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and a water pump. Two vault toilets are on site, but campers must pack out their trash. The surrounding area is ideal for fishing in Crooked River or exploring trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and ATVing—all within a short drive. Wildlife sightings and seasonal wildflowers enhance the experience, while winter transforms the area into a playground for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
Conveniently accessible from Highway 21, Edna Creek Campground is a quiet retreat with the occasional hum of passing traffic. Its location within an old burn scar tells a story of resilience, making it an intriguing destination for weekend campers and nature enthusiasts alike.
