El Chorro Regional Park

Conveniently located along Highway 1 between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay, El Chorro Regional Park Campground offers a versatile escape that balances accessibility with natural charm. With 61 campsites, including 43 full-hookup spots and 18 primitive sites, the campground caters to both RVers and tent campers. Shaded by mature trees in some areas and bordered by the rolling hills of the Central Coast, it features amenities like well-maintained restrooms, coin-operated showers, picnic tables, and a spacious off-leash dog park.

The campground serves as a base for exploring nearby attractions within a 30-minute drive, such as Morro Bay's beaches, the bustling charm of San Luis Obispo, and scenic hikes in Morro Bay State Park. Highlights within the park include the Eagle Rock Nature Trail, a 2.4-mile loop offering panoramic views of Chorro Valley and encounters with historical Chumash grinding stones. Families will appreciate the playground, while golfers can take advantage of the adjacent Dairy Creek Golf Course. Although occasional highway noise may affect light sleepers, the park’s blend of on-site recreation and proximity to coastal destinations makes it ideal for weekend getaways or longer stays.
