About Elks Flat Campground

Tucked into a picturesque meadow at an elevation of 4,400 feet, Elks Flat Campground surprises visitors with its blend of serene riverside camping and access to diverse outdoor adventures. Located along the South Fork Boise River and surrounded by cottonwood, aspen, Douglas fir, and ponderosa pine, this campground offers a peaceful atmosphere ideal for nature enthusiasts seeking fishing, hiking, or simply relaxing amidst scenic surroundings.

The campground features 36 single/double sites and two large group sites, each equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and paved pads. The South Fork Boise River alongside the campground provides excellent opportunities for swimming, trout fishing, and even rafting. For trail enthusiasts, nearby Green Creek Trail and Cross Cut Trail offer hiking, biking, horseback riding, and dirt bike routes—all set against the stunning backdrop of the Trinity Mountain Range.

Situated just five miles north of Pine, Idaho, the campground serves as a convenient base for exploring nearby attractions. Only a 30-minute drive away are the soothing Baumgartner Hot Springs with a nature trail, and Anderson Ranch Reservoir offers more options for water recreation.
