Campground Overview
About Findley Campground
Findley Campground, located on the western shore of Jackson Meadow Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest, offers a serene retreat amidst a canopy of pine and fir trees. A haven for outdoor enthusiasts, the campground combines quiet camping experiences with access to exciting recreational activities, including fishing for rainbow and brown trout, boating, hiking, and biking. Its proximity to the reservoir enhances its appeal, with a designated swim beach, boat ramp, and the nearby Pacific Crest Trail providing a variety of ways to explore this pristine environment.
Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring, and the campground includes amenities like potable water and vault toilets, though cell service, showers, and utility hookups are unavailable. Wildlife, including bears, frequents the area, so proper food storage is required. Within the Woodcamp Recreation Area, visitors will find an interpretive nature trail, adding an educational element to the stay, while the surrounding forested valley offers breathtaking views of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain.
Situated approximately 35 miles from Sierraville and accessible via scenic Highway 89, Findley Campground is ideal for a variety of trips, from quiet weekend getaways to longer explorations of the Tahoe National Forest. Nearby attractions, like Sierra Hot Springs and various lakeside activities at Jackson Meadow Reservoir, ensure that visitors have plenty of options for relaxation and adventure.
