About Flaming Prairie Park

How does a quiet escape along the Mississippi River, surrounded by wetlands teeming with wildlife, sound for your next camping trip? Flaming Prairie Park Campground, located just east of Grandview, Iowa, offers a serene environment where marshlands and open prairie blend seamlessly. Within its 72-acre expanse, campers will find a natural setting ideal for relaxation, exploration, and fishing along the river.

The campground features 24 spacious sites, including pull-through options, with electricity hookups of 20, 30, and 50 amps. While water is available seasonally (April to mid-October), campers should bring their own drinking water. Modern pit toilets, a picnic shelter, and grills enhance the accessibility and comfort of this locale. The Mississippi River boat ramp, just a short distance from the campground, provides easy access for canoeing, fishing, and observing local wildlife like bald eagles and pelicans.

The nearby Wildcat Den State Park, less than 30 minutes away, offers trails for hiking and exploring the region's rugged splendor. Flaming Prairie's peaceful atmosphere and close proximity to unique wetland habitats make it an excellent destination for weekend getaways or extended stays.
