Campground Overview
About Forks Campground
Perched on a hillside overlooking the sparkling waters of Bass Lake, Forks Campground combines a serene forested setting with accessibility to outdoor adventure. Towering cedar, ponderosa pine, and oak trees surround its 30 campsites, some offering limited lake views or proximity to a tranquil creek, creating an idyllic backdrop for both relaxation and exploration.
The campground is well-equipped, featuring picnic tables, pedestal grills, fire rings, and paved parking spurs at each site. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, and a nearby picnic area. While there are no hookups, the location supports both tent and RV camping (up to 40 feet in length). Nearby Bass Lake serves as a hub for recreation, offering opportunities for swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking. Popular hiking trails like the Goat Mountain Trail and Willow Creek Trail are within easy reach, and visitors may spot majestic bald and golden eagles in the surrounding wilderness.
Located within the Sierra National Forest, Forks Campground sits at 3,400 feet elevation, providing cool respite from the summer heat. It's approximately 8 miles from the town of Wishon and about a 30-minute drive to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park, making it an excellent base for day trips while retaining a peaceful forest retreat.
