Campground Overview
About Fourmile Lake Campground
Fourmile Lake Campground, located at the southern end of Oregon's Sky Lakes Wilderness, offers a rustic and tranquil camping experience framed by the serene waters of Fourmile Lake and the striking silhouette of Mount McLoughlin. This campground stands out for its proximity to pristine wilderness, ample recreational activities, and its back-to-basics charm—perfect for campers who seek solitude and natural beauty.
Within the Fremont-Winema National Forest, the campground features 29 sites suitable for both tents and small RVs. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and hand-pumped potable water, though there are no electrical hookups, showers, or dump stations. Boaters can enjoy the lake via a boat ramp, and anglers can fish for trout in the clear, snow-fed waters. Hiking trails, including access to the Pacific Crest Trail, lead adventurers through lush forests and up to breathtaking vistas. Nearby attractions include the Sky Lakes Wilderness, just steps away, and the Lake of the Woods Resort, less than a 15-minute drive.
Situated approximately an hour northwest of Klamath Falls, the campground’s remote location ensures a peaceful escape ideal for hikers, anglers, and nature lovers. While this is a haven for tranquility, visitors should come prepared for limited cell service, cool night temperatures, and the occasional presence of mosquitoes in early summer.
