Campground Overview
About Gamble Rogers State Park
Where the Atlantic Ocean meets the serene waters of the Intracoastal Waterway, Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area offers campers an unrivaled coastal escape, combining stunning ocean views, boating adventures, and an intimate connection with the area's natural beauty. Spread across 144 acres on a barrier island near Flagler Beach, this campground stands out with its dual camping areas—Beachside and Riverside—catering to both ocean enthusiasts and those seeking a quieter retreat by the waterway.
The Beachside Campground features 34 sites perched just behind the dunes, providing breathtaking ocean vistas and direct beach access via boardwalks, though shade and privacy are minimal. Perfect for RVers, these sites include water and electric hookups, as well as picnic tables and fire rings. Across Highway A1A, the Riverside Campground offers 34 more spacious sites, ideal for fishing, kayaking, and wildlife watching along the riverbank. While shaded spots are scarce, visitors enjoy well-maintained amenities, including restrooms, showers, a communal dump station, and a boat ramp.
Located just three miles from Flagler Beach, this campground is a prime choice for weekend getaways or extended stays, with activities like swimming, hiking, birdwatching, and even whale spotting in winter months. Nearby, the Ormond Scenic Loop and North Peninsula State Park add to the area's appeal, creating a destination that harmonizes relaxation and outdoor adventure in true Florida style.
