About Gigantea Campground
What makes Gigantea Campground exceptional? Just a short half-mile from the awe-inspiring McKinley Grove of Giant Sequoias, this campground combines the charm of rustic simplicity with the beauty of towering cedar, fir, and sugar pines. Its forested setting offers shaded sites, light usage for a tranquil camping experience, and proximity to unique natural wonders.
This compact campground features 10 sites that accommodate both tents and small RVs (up to 35 feet), with each site equipped with a picnic table and grill. Amenities are minimal, including a single vault toilet, no water, or trash service—making it a “pack it in, pack it out” facility best suited for campers seeking a close-to-nature experience. The access road is a mix of pavement and dirt, maintaining the rustic atmosphere.
Gigantea Campground is located approximately 30 minutes from Shaver Lake and Dinkey Creek, where visitors can find basic supplies, pay showers, and additional recreational opportunities like fishing, hiking, and exploring historic landmarks such as Dinkey Creek Bridge. This campground is ideal for weekend trips or extended stays that prioritize peaceful surroundings and proximity to majestic sequoias.
