About Golden Beach Campground
Golden Beach Campground, set along the southeastern shore of the expansive 5,935-acre Raquette Lake, stands out with its exceptional combination of lakefront access, secluded campsites, and historical ties to the Adirondack Great Camps. This campground exceeds expectations with its natural amenities, offering one of the largest natural beaches in the region and unparalleled opportunities for boating, fishing, and exploring the pristine 99-mile shoreline of Raquette Lake.
With 207 campsites surrounded by dense forest, the campground provides privacy and accommodates a range of camping setups from tents to 40-foot RVs. The lake is an angler’s haven, hosting species like lake trout, brook trout, bass, and perch. A shallow boat launch invites paddlers, while families can enjoy safe swimming when lifeguards are on duty. Hiking and biking are also popular within the site, creating a well-rounded outdoor experience.
Located off Route 28, Golden Beach Campground is just three miles east of the hamlet of Raquette Lake. This charming village offers boat rentals and narrated scenic cruises aboard restored steamships, providing glimpses of the Adirondacks’ storied past. Eight miles away, the Adirondack Experience museum at Blue Mountain Lake showcases the rich cultural and natural history of the region, making this area ideal for weekend getaways or extended vacations.
