Campground Overview
About Graham Creek Campground
Set against the striking backdrop of the San Juan Mountains, Graham Creek Campground blends pristine lake access with serene privacy, making it an ideal retreat for outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure and tranquility. Positioned on a hillside above Vallecito Reservoir, the campground offers picturesque lake views, well-spaced sites enveloped by natural underbrush, and easy access to water- and trail-based recreation.
This campground features 25 single-family sites, some reservable and others available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, and amenities include potable water and vault toilets. Though the lakeshore is separated by thickets of willow, short trails provide direct access to the water, which is perfect for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Anglers can target a variety of fish, including rainbow trout and kokanee salmon, while hikers can explore nearby trails like the North Canyon Trail with its scenic overlooks or the East Creek Trail, which offers quiet forested pathways.
Located just over 3 miles from Vallecito, Graham Creek Campground is a gateway to the abundant beauty and recreational opportunities of the San Juan National Forest. Within a short drive, visitors can discover additional trails, scenic picnic areas, or venture into local communities for supplies or dining. The intimate blend of natural beauty, recreational access, and peaceful surroundings makes Graham Creek Campground an excellent destination for weekend getaways or extended stays.
