About Grand Isle State Park
Where the rich waters of the Gulf of Mexico meet the Louisiana coast, Grand Isle State Park offers campers access to a relaxed yet adventure-packed experience, highlighted by Gulf-front campsites, excellent fishing opportunities, and abundant wildlife. This campground defies expectations with its unique coastal setting, boasting direct beach access for tent camping, a 900-foot fishing pier extending into the Gulf, and three miles of scenic hiking trails ideal for birdwatching and wildlife spotting.
Located at the eastern edge of Grand Isle, the park is just minutes from the small, laid-back town of Grand Isle, making it easy to restock supplies or take a break from outdoor adventures. Within the campground, visitors will find 49 RV sites with water and electrical hookups, a bathhouse with hot showers, and a nearby dump station. For those seeking a more rustic experience, unimproved beachfront sites accommodate tent campers with stunning views. Nature paths, wildlife observation points, and the park’s crabbing pier add to the myriad ways to connect with Louisiana’s coastal charm.
With the Gulf's waters teeming with over 280 fish species and the shoreline offering stunning sunset views, Grand Isle State Park is perfect for fishing weekends, relaxed getaways, or extended stays immersed in the unique ecosystem of Louisiana’s only inhabited barrier island.
