About Hamma Hamma Campground
What sets Hamma Hamma Campground apart is its enchanting riverside location, shaded by majestic evergreen and hardwood trees, offering campers a soothing escape rich in natural beauty, serenity, and adventure. This compact campground, situated along the Hamma Hamma River in Olympic National Forest, features 15 campsites that accommodate tents, small trailers, and RVs up to 21 feet in length.
The sites are well-equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, and vault toilets are available, though potable water is not provided on-site—campers can find water two miles away at Lena Creek Campground. The atmosphere is tranquil, with campsites surrounded by dense forest cover, ensuring both shade and a sense of privacy. The Living Legacy Interpretive Trail, beginning at the campground, offers a scenic and educational 1.5-mile forest walk beside the river, showcasing the region's rich Civilian Conservation Corps history.
Located 20 minutes northwest of Hoodsport, Washington, the campground is perfectly positioned for exploring nearby attractions, including Lena Lake Trail, which leads to a serene alpine lake, and the Mount Skokomish Wilderness for more adventurous hikes. With its blend of quiet charm and nearby exploration opportunities, Hamma Hamma Campground is an ideal spot for weekend getaways, fishing trips, or relaxing nature retreats.
