Campground Overview
About Hells Crossing Campground
Where the American River cuts gracefully through the dense evergreen forest of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Hells Crossing Campground offers a serene yet adventurous backdrop for campers seeking both tranquility and outdoor exploration. With well-maintained campsites, scenic river access, and proximity to numerous recreational opportunities, this campground is an inviting destination for nature lovers.
Divided into two sections on either side of the river, Hells Crossing features 18 campsites, including tent-only and RV-friendly sites, complete with picnic tables, fire rings, and access to potable water. Vault toilets and trash collection add convenience, while the lack of electrical hookups ensures a more rustic experience. The surrounding forest is rich with hiking opportunities, including access to the Pacific Crest Trail, while the American River invites fishing, swimming, and whitewater rafting.
Located approximately 38 miles northwest of Naches on Highway 410, Hells Crossing is ideally situated for daytrips to Mount Rainier National Park or the Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail, both within a 30-minute drive. The seasonal warmth of summer and crisp autumn air make this an exceptional spot for weekend getaways or extended outings.
