Hirz Bay Campground in Northern California’s Shasta-Trinity National Forest offers an exceptional lakeside retreat, combining tranquil forest surroundings with outstanding access to outdoor recreation. Each site is equipped with paved parking spurs, picnic tables, fire rings, and secure bear-proof food lockers, ensuring safety and comfort. Modern conveniences like flush toilets, potable water, and a nearby payphone enhance the experience. The 2-mile Hirz Bay Trail and a boat ramp located within half a mile make the area perfect for on-the-water adventures and serene hikes amidst oak and manzanita forests.

Situated just 20 miles northeast of Redding and accessible via Gilman Road off Interstate 5, Hirz Bay Campground serves as a gateway to Lake Shasta’s extensive shoreline and attractions like the Hirz Mountain Lookout and Lake Shasta Caverns.
