About Indian Lake State Park
Does fishing in Michigan’s fourth-largest inland lake tempt you? Indian Lake State Park Campground in Manistique, Michigan, offers a serene getaway split between two distinct units with diverse camping experiences. The South Unit boasts a modern campground with convenient amenities and expansive lake views, while the West Unit provides a semi-modern, rustic atmosphere nestled in a wooded setting.
Situated just five miles west of Manistique, this 567-acre park features 145 electric sites in the South Unit, including pull-through and tent-only options, and 72 semi-modern sites in the West Unit for a more tranquil escape. Both areas provide access to a designated swimming beach, a boat launch, and picnic shelters—some with historical significance from the Civilian Conservation Corps era. Campers can enjoy 2 miles of hiking trails within the park, including a paved, accessible path with scenic lake overlooks, as well as the nearby 8.5-mile Indian Lake Pathway.
The park's location is ideal for day-trip explorations. Just 10 minutes away is Kitch-iti-kipi, Michigan's largest freshwater spring, a must-visit for its natural beauty. With its mix of recreation, comfort, and immersion in nature, the campground is perfect for everything from weekend getaways to extended vacations.
