Indy Lakes Campground offers a distinctive blend of urban convenience and recreational tranquility, located just 14 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis. This campground is best known for its angler-focused amenities, featuring "Lake Le-An," a renowned pay lake that attracts fishing enthusiasts with its contests and well-stocked bait shop. The campground includes 52 full-service RV sites with 50-amp hookups, city water, and sewer connections, as well as a separate, quieter area for primitive camping with electric access. On-site amenities cater to comfort and convenience with climate-controlled restrooms and paid showers, laundry facilities, and a pet walking area. The automatic security gates and extensive camera system enhance safety, while the lakeside setting provides outdoor relaxation opportunities. However, urban surroundings include some noise from the nearby Southport Road and a wastewater treatment facility.

A short drive from the campground leads to iconic attractions like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis Zoo, offering additional entertainment options. Southwestway Park, a nature and wildlife area just 10 minutes away, provides hiking and outdoor exploration opportunities for travelers looking to connect with nature.
