About Island Lake Campground

Perched at 9,518 feet elevation, Island Lake Campground offers a high-altitude escape with stunning alpine scenery, pristine waters, and diverse recreational opportunities.

This picturesque campground features 21 recently renovated sites nestled among lodgepole pines, providing a sense of seclusion despite its popularity. The crystal-clear Island Lake serves as the centerpiece, inviting campers to fish, paddle, or simply soak in the serene mountain atmosphere. Hiking trails lead to panoramic vistas, while abundant wildflowers and wildlife viewing opportunities abound during the summer months.

Located along the renowned Beartooth Highway, Island Lake Campground sits approximately 20 miles from Cooke City, Montana, and about 46 miles from Cody, Wyoming.
