About Keller Park State Recreation Area
Keller Park State Recreation Area in Long Pine, Nebraska, surprises visitors with its tranquil charm and unique blend of features, offering a retreat into rugged, tree-lined bluffs while catering to both relaxation and outdoor adventure. Known for its angler-friendly atmosphere, this 196-acre park boasts five small lakes, perfect for fishing both warm-water species like bass and bluegill as well as cold-water rainbow trout stocked seasonally, alongside the scenic Bone Creek, a haven for trout.
The campground features 25 electric campsites, 15 basic, and 10 primitive sites, providing options for various camping preferences, all equipped with picnic tables and fire grates. Amenities include water access, primitive restrooms, and a charming footbridge over Bone Creek, which enhances the natural hiking experience. With serene surroundings and wildlife including whitetail deer and migratory birds, it’s ideal for a peaceful weekend getaway or a detour on a longer road trip.
Located northeast of Ainsworth and just a short drive from Long Pine State Recreation Area and other nearby public lands, the park is an excellent base for exploring the area’s outdoor offerings, including hiking trails and additional fishing spots.
