About Kelly Pines Equestrian Campground
How often do you find a campground that caters exclusively to equestrian adventures while offering a serene retreat into old-growth forests? Kelly Pines Equestrian Campground stands out as a remarkable hub for horseback riders, situated along the Spring Creek Horse Trail in the Allegheny National Forest. With only seven campsites, including two for non-riders and five designed specifically for equestrian use, this intimate campground ensures a peaceful and focused outdoor experience.
Set amidst towering 300-year-old white pines and alongside the trout-filled Wolf Run stream, Kelly Pines provides an idyllic escape for nature lovers and riders alike. Each equestrian site features a 4-horse tie-down shelter with gravel bases and rubber mats, while the double site includes two such shelters. On-site amenities include a vault toilet, picnic tables, fire rings, an artesian well, and a manure disposal bin. For horse care, there are designated water access points along the stream and hitching rails. The campground also offers direct access to the 38-mile Spring Creek Horse Trail, renowned for its scenic vistas through state game lands and forest roads.
Conveniently located just 15 minutes from Marienville, Pennsylvania, Kelly Pines is perfect for weekend getaways, extended equestrian trips, or day-use staging. Whether you're exploring the trail system or enjoying a quiet evening by the campfire, this campground delivers a truly unique fusion of equestrian utility and natural tranquility.
