Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park

Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park defies conventional camping expectations with its unique blend of desert serenity, rich recreational opportunities, and inspiring mountain vistas. Just six miles southeast of La Quinta's Old Town, this 710-acre park is centered around a 135-acre reservoir and framed by the dramatic Santa Rosa Mountains, offering campers a peaceful retreat within easy reach of the Coachella Valley's attractions.

The campground features 91 sites, including options for RVs, tents, and equestrian camping, with amenities such as electrical hookups, fire rings, picnic tables, clean restrooms, showers, and a dump station. While swimming and boating in the lake are prohibited due to its role as an irrigation reservoir, the park compensates with a seasonal swimming pool, ample fishing opportunities, hiking and horseback riding trails, a sand volleyball court, and open grass areas equipped with picnic shelters and barbecues. Stargazing is particularly rewarding here, thanks to dark desert skies and quiet nights.

Within a 30-minute drive, visitors can explore Old Town La Quinta, renowned for its dining and shopping, or enjoy access to nearby hiking trails and natural wonders like the La Quinta Cove trails.
