About Lake Manatee State Park
Shimmering under Florida’s abundant sunshine, Lake Manatee State Park’s campground stands out as a tranquil destination for nature lovers, featuring wooded campsites, access to the serene Lake Manatee, and a variety of outdoor activities that promise an authentic and peaceful escape. Situated 15 miles east of Bradenton along State Road 64, the campground is enveloped in sand pine scrub and pine flatwoods, offering a laid-back ambiance perfect for unwinding away from city life.
The campground offers 60 sites equipped for both RV and tent camping, with water, 30-amp electric hookups, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills available for every site. A centralized bathhouse with showers and a conveniently located dump station ensure comfort for extended stays. While the campsites are not directly on the waterfront, the lake’s fishing docks, swimming area, and boat ramp are easily accessible on foot, making it an appealing location for anglers and water enthusiasts. Motor restrictions on the lake preserve an undisturbed environment, ideal for canoeing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing, with species such as osprey, egrets, and even alligators regularly spotted.
Within the park, guests can also explore 6.5 miles of multi-use trails cutting through diverse habitats, or take advantage of the playground, picnic areas, and interpretive exhibits. Nearby attractions, including Bradenton’s historic sites or the DeSoto Speedway just a mile away, add variety for those seeking cultural or entertainment experiences. Whether for a weekend getaway or an extended retreat, this campground offers a harmonious balance of outdoor recreation and serene comfort.
