Visitors are surrounded by the region’s hallmark features: towering old-growth pines, glistening lakeshores, and rocky outcrops scattered with lichen.
Located 20 minutes west of Ely and on the southeastern edge of Lake Vermilion, this campground provides easy access to the dramatic history of Minnesota's oldest iron mine through captivating underground tours. Adventurers can also explore hiking trails that traverse the park’s varied ecosystems, access the Mesabi Bike Trail, or paddle along Lake Vermilion’s scenic bay and islands.
