Last Chance Campground

Located just 9 miles north of Ketchikan in the Ward Lake Recreation Area, this campground is an excellent choice for nature enthusiasts. Last Chance Campground is situated by both Last Chance Creek and Ward Creek, presenting campers with opportunities for fishing and tranquil natural views. The campground itself offers 19 campsites, 17 of which are wheelchair accessible, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and gravel parking spur. Two hand-pump water stations and three vault toilets are available, ensuring a comfortable stay for both RV and tent campers.

The surrounding Ward Lake Recreation Area boasts seven hiking trails, including the family-friendly 1.3-mile Ward Lake Nature Trail that loops around the scenic lake.
