Campground Overview
About Lone Mesa Group Campground
Perched atop a small desert mesa in the rugged highlands of Moab, Utah, Lone Mesa Group Campground is an ideal retreat for those seeking panoramic vistas, outdoor adventure, and a tranquil group camping experience. This Bureau of Land Management campground stands out for its proximity to world-famous destinations like Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, and extensive trail networks for mountain biking and off-highway vehicle exploration.
The campground features five spacious group sites, accommodating up to 40 people each, with essential amenities such as shade shelters, picnic tables, fire grates, and vault toilets. Though the area lacks potable water, it offers cooler temperatures than Moab and provides an excellent base for activities like hiking, stargazing, and photography. Visitors can also take advantage of a dedicated horse corral at one site, further enhancing the camping experience for equestrian enthusiasts.
Located just 20 miles northwest of Moab, the campground offers unparalleled access to the Island in the Sky District, the Green River, and the iconic White Rim Trail, making it a perfect choice for school groups, family reunions, or outdoor retreats. With its breathtaking desert scenery and direct connection to some of Utah's most celebrated recreational areas, Lone Mesa Group Campground delivers an unforgettable combination of adventure and relaxation.
