Look Rock Campground

Perched along the quiet Foothills Parkway West, Look Rock Campground offers a serene, high-elevation retreat at 2,657 feet with sweeping views of the Great Smoky Mountains. It defies expectations of overcrowded national park campgrounds, providing a more secluded and peaceful experience with modernized amenities like accessible restrooms and limited power and water hookups for RVs.

The campground features 68 well-maintained sites, including tent pads, fire rings, and picnic tables, surrounded by tree cover that enhances privacy. While it lacks showers and comprehensive hookups, its comfort stations with potable water ensure basic needs are met. Campers can enjoy easy access to the Look Rock Observation Tower, which rewards visitors with panoramic mountain vistas, and the Foothills Parkway, a scenic drive with multiple pull-offs. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate nearby opportunities for hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing.

Located approximately 18 miles southwest of Townsend, Tennessee, Look Rock is ideally situated for exploring lesser-traveled corners of the park, like the Chilhowee, Calderwood, and Cheoah Lakes, all within a short drive.
