Campground Overview
About Mariner Park
Where ocean waves meet the gravel shore, Mariner Park Campground on the Homer Spit delivers an authentic Alaskan beach camping experience, marked by striking bay views, the sound of surf, and a relaxed, open atmosphere. Its proximity to the water makes it a haven for beachcombers, birdwatchers, and adventure seekers, while the simplicity of its amenities encourages a rustic, back-to-nature getaway.
This 111-acre multi-use area features 34 first-come, first-served campsites on a gravel lot, offering a mixture of spaces suitable for both tents and RVs. Basic amenities include picnic tables, portable toilets, fire rings, and a gazebo in the day-use area, but there is no access to potable water or hookups, reinforcing the campground's low-impact, self-reliant ethos. The exposed layout and lack of vegetative barriers between sites provide expansive views but limited privacy, while wind off the bay helps keep mosquitos at bay.
Located at the entrance to Homer Spit, just two miles from Homer's central business district, Mariner Park combines easy access to local amenities with immediate immersion in the area's coastal beauty. Within minutes, visitors can enjoy whale watching, tidal exploration, birding, and even para-surfing, making it an ideal destination for adventurous overnighters or weekend nature enthusiasts.
