Campground Overview
About Marshall Park Campground
Marshall Park Campground offers a tranquil retreat in an open meadow along the Rio Grande River, featuring expansive views of Bristol Head Peak and the La Garita Mountains. Ideal for campers seeking simplicity and natural beauty, this campground stands out with its excellent trout fishing opportunities, nearby off-road trails, and proximity to historical and geological wonders like the Wheeler Geologic Area and Bachelor Loop—both within a short drive.
The campground sits just 7 miles southwest of Creede, Colorado, along Forest Road 523, at an elevation of 8,800 feet. Its sites, while open and minimally shaded, are thoughtfully equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and an accessible vault toilet. However, drinking water is unavailable, so campers must bring their own supply. Firewood can be purchased on-site, and seasonal campfire programs further enhance the experience.
Within a 30-minute radius, visitors can enjoy Rio Grande's trophy trout fishing, off-road vehicle trails such as the 11-mile Lost Trail #821, and explore Creede’s historic charm. With its serene setting and convenient access to outdoor adventures, Marshall Park Campground caters especially to anglers, OHV enthusiasts, hunters, and those looking for an off-grid escape.
