With its expansive desert surroundings, McDowell Mountain Regional Park Campground offers an exceptional blend of solitude, scenic beauty, and recreation opportunities within the lower Verde River Basin of Arizona. This 21,000-acre landscape features stunning mountain views, access to over 50 miles of multi-use trails, and accommodations designed to suit both RV and tent campers.
The campground encompasses 76 developed sites with water and electric hookups along with 16 semi-developed sites for smaller setups or tents. Amenities include picnic tables, barbecue fire rings, flush toilets, hot showers, and an on-site dump station. The spacious South Loop provides flat sites ideal for larger RVs, while the North Loop offers a quieter, more rustic experience. Outdoor enthusiasts are drawn to the park’s extensive trail network, catering to hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, ranging from beginner-friendly paths to challenging routes like the 15.3-mile Pemberton Trail.
