Campground Overview
About Meadow Ridge Campground
Is a high-elevation camping experience with sweeping views of a pristine reservoir and the rugged charm of Colorado’s Front Range on your bucket list? Meadow Ridge Campground, perched at 9,200 feet near Rampart Reservoir, stands out for its tranquil forested setting, proximity to outdoor activities, and well-kept amenities.
This intimate, 19-site campground is nestled in a forest of ponderosa pine, spruce, and aspen trees, providing a serene atmosphere with partial shade and grassy undergrowth. While campsites offer picnic tables, fire rings, and access to potable water and vault toilets, privacy between sites is somewhat limited. A distinct feature is the terraced layout of some sites, requiring steps to access their picnic and fire areas. Firewood is conveniently available for purchase onsite. The campground accommodates tents, trailers, and RVs up to 36 feet, though maneuvering larger vehicles may be challenging due to sharp corners.
Located just 10 miles from Woodland Park, this campground offers excellent access to outdoor recreation. Rampart Reservoir, a short distance away, is a premier spot for rainbow and mackinaw trout fishing, as well as hiking and mountain biking along the scenic 14-mile Rampart Reservoir Trail. For a cultural or family-friendly outing, the nearby town of Green Mountain Falls and the U.S. Air Force Academy are worth a visit, all within a 30-minute drive. With its rustic amenities and stunning surroundings, Meadow Ridge is ideal for weekend getaways and nature-focused vacations.
