Medoc Mountain State Park Campground, in Hollister, North Carolina, defies expectations of towering peaks, offering instead a peaceful retreat among rolling landscapes, ancient geology, and dynamic ecosystems.
This year-round campground features 34 single-family campsites accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs, with 12 offering electrical hookups. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, clean restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, and a dump station for RVs. The campground also has four equestrian campsites and group camping areas, making it a versatile choice for diverse camping styles. While the wooded campsites offer privacy and quiet perfect for stargazing, the surrounding park boasts nearly 30 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, including the Summit Loop Trail leading to scenic overlooks and historic sites.
Located less than 30 minutes from attractions like Sylvan Heights Bird Park and the Roanoke Canal Museum, and within easy reach of the Roanoke River and Lake Gaston, this campground serves as a launching point for both exploration and relaxation.
