Campground Overview

About Memorial Park Campground

How does Memorial Park Campground, hidden within the rugged Santa Lucia Mountains, redefine your expectations of a primitive escape? This uncrowded retreat enchants with its serene trout stream, dramatic rock formations, and canopies of oak and pine trees, offering campers an immersive back-to-nature experience far removed from modern distractions.

This secluded gem features only eight campsites, delivering a peaceful atmosphere ideal for nature enthusiasts. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, but its lack of potable water, electricity, or phone service requires campers to be entirely self-sufficient. Vault toilets are provided, and nearby trailheads lead to excellent hiking, biking, and horseback riding opportunities that reveal sandstone landscapes, wildflowers, and vibrant wildlife. The Arroyo Seco River, accessible within a short walk, offers shallow wading spots and a tranquil setting for relaxation.

Located in the Los Padres National Forest, Memorial Park Campground is reachable only from Highway 101 via the scenic Del Venturi Road, approximately 30 minutes from King City. Within a 15-minute drive, visitors can explore the historic San Antonio Mission or watch for deer and acorn woodpeckers along the way. With its rustic charm and natural splendor, this campground is perfect for contemplative weekend getaways and rugged outdoor adventures.
