The campground boasts 74 campsites and 16 rustic cabins, including historic structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during the 1930s. The sites cater to tents and RVs, with options for water and electric hookups, as well as amenities like hot showers and picnic areas. Three loops—Lakeview, Turkey Oak, and Sandhill—offer a mix of lakeside views, shady wooded locations, and proximity to facilities, ensuring a tailored experience for every camper. Primitive group campsites are also available. Campers can fish or paddle in Little Lake Johnson, hike over 5 miles of trails, or stargaze in the park’s exceptionally dark skies free from light pollution.
Located six miles north of Keystone Heights, this park is just 30 minutes from Gainesville, making it an ideal spot for weekend getaways or extended stays. Visitors can explore the steephead ravine system, one of Florida's largest, transition between sandhill and scrub habitats, or enjoy bird-watching as part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.
