Campground Overview
About Montana Creek Campground
What sets Montana Creek Campground apart is its exceptional location along a premier fishing stream, paired with the perfect blend of modern conveniences and natural serenity. Offering direct access to Montana Creek's prized salmon and trout fishing, wooded and open sites with optional electric hookups, and scenic walking and biking trails, it’s a haven for anglers, outdoor enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike.
This summer-only campground, located along the Parks Highway near Willow, Alaska, caters to a variety of camping preferences with options for tent camping, RVs, and group gatherings. The grounds feature picnic tables, fire rings, a well-stocked store for essentials like fishing gear and groceries, and beautifully maintained settings with flower gardens and lush forests. The paved trails, complete with underpasses, enhance accessibility and provide safe passage across the highway to explore the area further. Although the proximity to Parks Highway means some traffic noise, the benefits of being nestled near Montana Creek’s abundant wildlife and scenic charm far outweigh this minor drawback.
Positioned approximately 16 miles from the lively town of Talkeetna, the campground serves as a base for exploring the area's attractions. Whether it’s flightseeing around Denali, jet boating along the rivers, or visiting Talkeetna’s historic downtown filled with artisan shops and unique dining experiences, there’s no shortage of adventure within a short drive. This campground is ideal for weekend getaways or extended vacations, offering both a tranquil retreat and a gateway to Alaskan wilderness experiences.
